European Wind Farm - Subsea Inspection Framework
Hughes Subsea were successfully awarded Dong Energy’s European Subsea Inspection Framework.
The framework covered three of Dong Energy’s European wind farms Borkum Riffgrund, Gode Wind and Anholt.

Following a thorough technical and commercial tendering process Hughes Subsea were successfully awarded Dong Energy’s European Subsea Inspection Framework. The framework covered three of Dong Energy’s European wind farms Borkum Riffgrund, Gode Wind and Anholt.
Inspection tasks carried out on the three OSSs and 59 WTGs Included:
- GVI and CVI
- Marine Growth Thickness Readings
- CP surveys (anode surveys, contact and proximity readings)
- Cable protection surveys
In order to provide the most cost-efficient approach to the works, from the DP2 Vessel ‘Relume’ Hughes Subsea utilised both divers and ROVs to complete over 100 safe dives. Efficient working practices allowed Hughes Subsea to complete the work scope within 48 days, thereby exceeding client expectations.
A spokesperson from Dong Energy praised the works by saying, “Thank you very much for finishing the EU campaign with a very high level of safety during the whole campaign, and for the work performance, fast and efficient.”
